Our beginner courses take place during the summer in Åre and run from Monday to Saturday.
The goal is for you to complete the course with a Swedish Student Pilot Licence with Mountain Rating, giving you a safe and solid foundation to continue developing as a paraglider pilot.
Price: SEK 10,500
6 days of training
Up to 10 mountain flights included
6-month weather guarantee
For bookings: patrik@1420airborne.se
From the ground to your first mountain flights
We start by getting familiar with the equipment and learning how to control the paraglider on the ground. From there, we progress to training hills where you practise take-offs, landings and short flights.
Once you have mastered the basics, it is time for your first real high-altitude flights. This is where you put everything you have learned into practice, flying under the guidance of our instructors.
Everyone progresses at a different pace, and we move on to the next stage when you are ready.
Six days of training – Monday to Saturday
The course runs for six days and combines theory with ground handling, training-hill flights and mountain flights.
Because paragliding depends on weather and wind conditions, there is no fixed schedule for each day. We adapt the training to the conditions and make the most of the best flying opportunities for the practical parts of the course.
During the course, you will learn:
* Equipment and safety checks
* Ground handling and glider control
* Take-off and landing techniques
* Training-hill flights and practical flying exercises
* High-altitude flights
* Basic aerodynamics
* Meteorology and weather assessment
* Airspace and flying regulations
* Risk assessment and safety
* Planning and carrying out a safe flight
The course includes both theoretical and practical training, as well as the tests and examinations required for the rating.
Up to 10 mountain flights included
The number of mountain flights required to successfully complete the course varies from student to student.
For this reason, we include up to 10 mountain flights in the course price. This means there is no additional charge for each moundtain flight within your first 10 flights.
If you need more than 10 mountain flights to meet the training requirements, additional flights can be arranged at an extra cost.
6-month weather guarantee
Paragliding is weather-dependent, and safety always comes first.
If weather conditions prevent us from completing all the required training during your course week, you can return and complete the remaining parts of the course at a later course date at no additional course fee.
The weather guarantee is valid for 6 months from the final day of your original course and applies when the course cannot be completed due to weather conditions.
This means we never need to rush flights when the conditions are not suitable.
Equipment included
You do not need to buy your own paragliding equipment before the course.
During the course, you can use the equipment required for the practical training. This also gives you an opportunity to learn more about different types of equipment before deciding what to buy.
When you are ready to purchase your own equipment, we are happy to advise you on choosing a paraglider, harness, reserve parachute and other equipment.
Who can join the beginner course?
You do not need any previous paragliding experience.
We start from the beginning and adapt the training to your individual progress. You should have a normal level of physical fitness, as the course involves ground training, running and moving through mountain terrain.
The most important thing is that you are motivated to learn to fly and ready for six exciting days in Åre.
